Anhui Province’s consumer price index fell by 0.7% year-on-year in February

According to the Anhui Provincial Government website, the reporter recently learned from the Anhui Provincial Survey Team of the National Bureau of Statistics that the province’s consumer price index (CPI) fell by 0.7% year-on-year and 0.2% month-on-month in February, both of which were in line with the national level.

From a year-on-year perspective, the price of food, tobacco and alcohol fell by 2.8%, affecting the decline in the consumer price index by about 0.85%. The prices of the other seven categories of goods or services rose by five and fell by two year-on-year. Among them, the prices of other goods and services rose by 6.7%, the prices of medical care rose by 2.1%, the prices of clothing rose by 1.5%, the prices of education, culture and entertainment rose by 0.4%, and the prices of housing rose by 0.2%; the prices of transportation and communications fell by 2.6%, and the prices of daily necessities and services fell by 0.3%.

From a month-on-month perspective, the prices of food, tobacco and alcohol fell by 0.1%. The prices of the other seven categories of goods or services fell by four and remained unchanged month-on-month. Among them, clothing prices fell by 0.7%, education, culture and entertainment prices fell by 0.3%, transportation and communications prices fell by 0.3%, and other goods and services prices fell by 0.2%; housing prices, daily necessities and services prices, and medical care prices remained the same as last month.
