Lenovo CEO Expects Global PC Market to Expand 15%-35% in Next Two to Three Years

Lenovo Group Ltd. projects the global personal-computer market to grow around 15%-35% in the next two to three years, as the world’s largest PC maker expects remote working and online classes to continue even after the coronavirus pandemic eases.
“PC is becoming an essential product for everyone, even for people who only used smartphones in the past,” Lenovo Chief Executive Yang Yuanqing told the Wall Street Journal on Thursday.

Mr. Yang projects that annual computer shipments could reach 300 million-350 million devices in two to three years, from around 260 million units in 2019.

If realized, such growth would be a significant step for the stagnating PC industry, which has seen declining sales volume for over five years due to market saturation before finally delivering a slight growth in 2019.
